SAD

Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Does it exist?
or is it just another yuppie illness like Chronic Fatigue?

WHERE IN THE F IS THE SUN?????

Spring is a weird time of year. It always feels like everything is moving uphill...I suppose it is. Everything is trying to get out from underneath winter...but winter is heavy and isn't ready to get up off the couch yet...and the cat is suffocating while everyone continues watching television.

I do think it exists. I think is has to do with the holidays as well. Two major family holidays (that are usually full of stress and involve seeing those you may not want to) happen and usually signal the true beginnings of winter. If those holidays aren't very cool, it can make getting up in the dark and coming home in the dark that much harder to deal with. Plus, people are usually inside more in the winter, and that can bring on isolation feelings that are exasberated (what does exaserbate mean?) by the darkness that we live in during those months.

Plus, it makes driving and waiting for the bus a bitch.
