Oh, my God. I am so sorry.
Obviously no words can give any real comfort for this, having gone through this a few times in my own life, but just try to remember how much joy and love he brought.
It's the only way you can really help deal with something like this.

I'm so sorry, honey. You were a good cat mom and took amazing care of him. I will always remember him crotching it out with us at rehearsal on your kitchen floor.
