Well, I'll tell ya. There is no question in my mind that this asshole belongs in jail. However. I definitely question the timing. I feel like this stinks of underhanded shots at Obama's impending inauguration. I'm wondering if someone in the GOP approached him with an offer the greedy bastard couldn't refuse to fall on his sword for an ungodly amount of money.

hey... maybe if they chuck his pompadoo-ed ass in slammer, he'll get a two-for-one exoneration along with George Ryan!! Little dudes with Napoleon complexes are really embarrassing, for everyone.
I would question the timing too, except that Blogo was probably getting pretty close to appointing a US Senator. So the FBI had to give him enough rope to hang himself (which he's apparently been yanking off the spool as fast as he can) but not let him get so far along that we actually have to deal with the embarrassment of dealing not only with a tainted Governor, but a suspicious Senate appointee, too.
Maybe the thought was, 'let him fuck things up around here, but we pull the trigger when he's about to go national.'
The timing does seem suspicious, though, I agree. Hopefully the inch long attention everybody has these days will actually work in our favor this time.
Can you imagine if January 20th we're all able to say "Rod who?"
