I went to see Elvis Costello last night. It was a great show.
There was one song in particular that got me though.
"What do you want the girl to do when all she wants is you?"
This pretty much encapsulates my state of mind entirely during my last relationship.
What, indeed?
When is it finally enough?
What does "good enough" look like?
How do I stop feeling so goddamned useless?
Well, leaving I suppose,
but you beat me to that, didn't you?

Have you listened much to his wife?
I didn't like the recorded versions but my mum took me to a Diana Krall concert in England at The Royal Albert Hall and she is amazing like that.
Soft and kind and funny and modest and then passionate and strong in song.
Thanks for the comment, I didn't realise anyone new had started to read my blog or, if you had been reading for a while, I didn't realise that there were more people reading than the people I know.
