Hey! I LOVE Being Forced to Quit Smoking.

I always said that I would quit smoking as soon as I got pregnant.

I wish I could say I was.

No. I have to quit because my apartment building is becoming like most everything else in this fucking city...smoke free.

Why? Because the insurance company says so.
Apparently, there are lots of fires being set by cigarette smokers.
In Canada alone nearly 70 people die every year!!!!!!!!!
Apparently it's more in the US, but try getting any real statistics on the fucking internet about it.
Anyway, they're using that new flame retardant paper which makes smoking suck even more now, so there should be a big reduction (early research in New York says it's something like 25-50%).

Here's the deal.
Yes. I need to quit smoking.
But I resent being forced to because of political agenda and pharmaceutical company profit.

And here's what sucks even fucking more. Until they make smoking outright illegal...which they will...even if I BUY a home it's going to have to be a detached house situation. Because you can bet you fucking ass the Condo Associations out there are going to make short work of banning smoking in condominiums as well.

It's not right. It's not just. I have always been a considerate smoker. Always.

July 1.

That's how much time I have.

Yes, definitely, without question, you should maintain the choice to pay Philip Morris to increase your risk of lung cancer, because that's your right.

I should point out that the no-smoking ban includes all decks, fire escapes and balconies. In otherwords...the premises. Which means that I would have to walk down 3 flights of stairs to smoke. And YES. I COULD always just "go outside."...sigh. This is a whole other discussion altogether. I'll write more on why people smoke later.

Hate to be the real person in your imaginary example,

BUT,

we just spent 11 grand on a fresh coat of paint in our front stairwells. And I can tell you that in at least one of those stairwells, it'll be ruined with the stench of stale smoke, inside of a week.

You can't stop it - it leakin' under doors and through walls. So yeah, as "bored" president I'm researching ways to legally push through a smoking ban in the entire building.

It's 2008. I just wanna know why cigarettes still even exist.

Cigarettes exist because people like smoking them.

I am never coming back now.

EVER.

It's bad enough that I can't go to my local... well, anything... anymore, light one up and puff away because of the Phoenix-wide smoking ban. But if I can't smoke in the dwelling of someone who pays their rent and doesn't use it as a crack-house... are they going to start banning all pets too since there are people that are allergic ACROSS THE FUCKING HALL? God, that shit makes me mad.

Cigarettes are part of our culture. They ALWAYS will be, no matter how many fuckwad laws they pass or rules they put in place. Guns, tobacco, alcohol (interesting that there's a government agency dedicated to all three combined) are always going to be here. If people can't smoke, drink or shoot people, they're just going to find other things to fuck themselves up with.

And that's one to grow on.

One effective medicine to induce smoking cessation is Chantix which is extensively available on online pharmacies as well as in the neighboring drug stores. The need is to consult a physician if you are unable to get rid of smoking addiction then obtain Chantix prescription from him. Chantix, the Pfizer manufactured anti-smoking drug has got the approval of the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) on 11 May, 2006 as an anti-smoking treatment in adults and as such the medicine is safe and effective for you. http://www.chantixhome.com/

I take xanax alprazolam only as needed for Panic Attacks. It helps to know that I only have to "hang on" for 15 minutes or so and then it will kick in and work well. I am thrilled with it and don't know what I would do if it wasn't available.
