On the Topic of Happiness and Sorrow...
I told a friend today:
I think the most important thing to remember is that in life, there is joy and there is sorrow. You can’t have one without the other. Our habit, however is to move toward sorrow rather than happiness.. that way, when the sorrow comes, we don’t miss the happiness, because it was never there to miss.
There are a couple things at work in my head here... 1. Therapy and the discoveries therein and 2. The Village.
Ha ha...The Village? Yes. The Village. For those of you who haven't seen this film, I won't spoil it. But, the theme that runs through it is this: You can't run from sorrow. But you can run toward hope.
That's what makes us human, right? Our dilligent hope in the face of pain. Even when we say things like "I will never ever allow myself to love again" (I can quote myself in this blog saying that exact thing), we do. We love. And when we're not loving, we hope for the love.
And then when we get it, suddenly we morph into Lenny and hug it and squeeze it and call it George, and summarily destroy it. How can we not? Something so rare and so Precious... my precious... how could we not want to hold on tight and NEVER let it go?
I don't know all the answers.
Is Love dead?
I Hope not.
;)

Yes it's dead, as a door nail. Give up, let it go, run away, don't look back, fly away, jump off, drop the "he loves me, he loves me not" flower, and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on.....
Like the song "LOVE HURTS", stop looking so hard for it. Then once you are done paying so much fucking homage to it (like every other human on this spinning mess called earth) you will just trip over it. Like you didn't even know it was there. Kind of like that microscopic piece of crap on the street that no one can see, but you trip over it anyway.
Do you think you and Lenny should stop hanging out? Your grips seem to be just a little bit too tight.
Loosen your grip girl.....like Martha says "It's a good thing".
I love when people actually READ what's on a page.
For those playing along:
"Lenny" is a "character" from a BOOK called "Of Mice and Men." To "morph" is "to become" or "transform into".
So, what that was, was a "metaphor". God.
Anyone who has to be explained "Lenny" is a silly goose with big honkers.
Love is as dead as Eddie Wilson.
I know that "LENNY" is a character dumb dumb. Read the posting again, and then figure out what I meant. It's not that hard people.
I wasn't using Lenny as a reference to a person I'm seeing. I was saying that people turn in to him when in love. I'm done explaining.
I know what you were talking about, when you wrote "LENNY". You were referring to yourself and others in relationships. Being too neeeeeedy and hands on. Kind of like how you keep commentings on your own blog comments. You must do it with eveything, I guess. Don't worry it's not a question. Let some things alone.
I agree with Artgirl. Love is not dead, however, I feel it's standing by the wayside. I had love snatched away from me. I hope, I really hope that it will come back at some point in time.
